FUN FACTS
I'm from Ohio, and people usually recieve this news
with a mixture of pity and shock. I also say I'm from Cleveland, but really, I'm from Sandusky, but really, I mean Norwalk.
I know how to crochet, although not well.
These two facts are not related.
I got my start in New Media when my friend wanted me to design a hackathon website. I said I could do it with confidence.
Then I googled "how to design a website". Whattaya know, figma popped up.
The next year, I got into AP Compsci. I struggled through defining classes, arrays, methods.
At the end, we started making applets/GUI's of games like poker, Deal or No Deal, battleship, etc. I started to enjoy the class.
I could make .mouseClick() methods, make pop-ups, change colors by hexcodes, and I found the whole thing challenging but so fun!
It got me wanting to learn how to do it as a job.
FOOD
I'm giving a detailed description of my favorite meal from a specific spot in Cleveland.
Gai Bi Tang: a Korean short rib soup.
Imagine this: a big bowl piping hot filled to the brim with
clear, fatty broth that's been stewing for hours, if not days.
It has meat that falls off the bone with rice noodles and chopped scallions.
It's wheeled out with a pot of fresh, fluffy rice and banchan (side dishes) -
like blanched spinach drizzled with sesame oil, crisp spicy/sour kimchi,
chewey fish cakes, crunchy bean sprouts...it's amazing.
After the meal is done, you sip a sweet, syrupy cinnamon-ginger punch meant as a digestive.

MOVIES
My family is super into movie nights. We make popcorn fresh, bust out some icecream, and sit together. No matter what we're doing or how busy we are,
we always make time for movies. The most quotable movie is Princess Bride. It's a family favorite. Anybody wanna peanut?
My dad got me into Star Wars, and naturally, the best tv show is Clone Wars.
BOOKS
I read Little Women every year during fall. It was one of the first "big" books I read on my own, and it has a special place in my heart.
Another few series I like to reread are
Harry Potter/Percy Jackson/Hunger Games. Fun fact: I am a daughter of Hades, Slytherin, and Lightlark shipper.
MUSIC
My family is a theater family, meaning my aunts/uncles and us cousins (don't hate the bad grammar) grew up playing piano, violin,
singing, dancing, doing highschool musicals, show choirs, etc.
So a lot of the music I listened to growing up were musicals from Hollywood movies, like "Singin in the Rain" and "Oklahoma",
or Broadway musicals like "Wicked" and "Phantom of the Opera", or I'd literally sit and listen to classical music.
I try and discover new artists, and I really like R&B and soul music right now. It always changes every few months.
My favorite artist right now is Elton John.
